Superfatting is the process of adding extra oils/butters which remain suspended within the finished soap. That’s why homemade soap makes your skin feel so moisturized and soft!
If you have been using body wash or commercial “soap” on your skin, you’ve actually been washing your skin with detergent. Detergents work differently than soap: they “cut grease” (think ‘healthy oils’) from your skin, leaving it feeling tight & DRY.
