Natural Homemade Soap is Good for Your Skin!

Natural Homemade Soap can make a remarkable difference in your skin.  Rather than stripping your skin of it’s natural oils,  natural soap will gently lift soil from your skin -leaving it feeling silky soft and smooth.

Homemade soap is rich in naturally-occurring glycerin, a substance that’s known to make skin feel soft and comfortable by attracting and holding moisture to the skin’s surface.

In addition to the gentle cleansing action of natural soap, and it’s moisturizing glycerin, we “superfat” our homemade  soap with rich tropical butters, to condition your skin every time you wash.  Superfatting is the process of adding extra oils/butters which remain suspended within the finished soap.  That’s why homemade soap makes your skin feel so moisturized and soft!

If  you have been using body wash or commercial “soap” on your skin, you’ve actually been washing your skin with detergent. Detergents work differently than soap: they “cut grease” (think ‘healthy oils’) from your skin, leaving it feeling tight & DRY.  Chemicals such as parabens, synthetic fragrances and pore-clogging mineral oil are added to make up for all that harsh stripping. The problem with these additives is that many are known skin irritants!
blue ribbon natural soapHeirloom homemade soap is made with only all-natural, skin pampering ingredients.  We believe that using healthy, natural products on your skin is vital to your health:  so much of what goes on your skin ends up being absorbed through your skin!

Unfortunately, all handmade soap, “natural soap”, or homemade soap is not well-made and high quality.  It’s important to real labels carefully: many soaps that claim to be “natural” contain synthetic fragrance, color, or worse.  Real, 100% natural soap costs more than detergent body washes, “beauty bars” and handmade soap that isn’t all natural, but you really do get what you pay for -your health and your skin are worth taking care of!

One of the most common, inferior ingredients you’ll find in some “natural” soaps is fragrance (sometimes called fragrant oils or fragrance oils) -these are not natural! Because  fragrance oils are often irritating & drying, we don’t use them -ever!

Instead, our soap is scented with only pure essential oils.  Essential oils are derived from plants that grow in nature, they’re gentle on your skin, and many have skin-healing and aromatherapy properties that fragrance oils just don’t have.

After a while you will be able to tell the difference immediately -you’ll know right away that “warm vanilla cookie” scent does NOT grow in the wild, and is NOT healthy for you or your family!

The colors in our homemade soaps are natural too -simply because they’re better for your skin.    We use pure clays and botanicals to add gorgeous colors while helping to smooth and condition your skin!  The resulting colors are subtly beautiful, soft & natural.  Beware of overly bright/neon shades in your soap -chances are they were created in a lab, not harvested from nature.

We believe that when a soap label says all natural or natural, well, that’s what you should be getting!  It is just plain wrong to say a product is natural when it isn’t.  Every soap we make is 100% natural homemade soap.  You will always get what you pay for when you purchase Heirloom Soapworks Natural Soap -it’s the real deal, and your skin will tell the difference!
